The Purpose of this Site: Using "Your Code of Ethics" to Promote Ethical Behavior

Created by author/historian and writing-software executive Irwin Berent, the Your Code of Ethics blog is dedicated to promoting the use of codes of ethics, oaths, pledges, and other forms of verbal commitment, statements of purpose, or declared standards of conduct.  Fundamentally, its purpose is to foster, encourage, develop, and promote those codes that enshrine the noble potential of one's life, family, friendships, ideas, actions, and dreams, and that acknowledge the corresponding God-given obligation one has to consider and ameliorate the impact of one's actions.

By serving as a clearinghouse for links to all kinds of codes, by providing a forum for interested visitors to ask questions and give advice and suggestions about codes, and by offering special projects such as the "Creativity Code" project, this website is designed to provide individuals, organizations, businesses, governments, and agencies with the tools to create such codes for themselves as well as to promote the use of those codes within their respective families, communities, professions, groups, etc. as well as regionally, nationally, and ultimately globally.

To see particular codes of ethics, oaths, pledges, et cetera, refer to the alphabetically arranged Categories list on the right column of this page (and any page of this blog). And to learn more about the site and the tools and projects that we're developing -- and how you can help -- refer especially to the categories listed alphabetically under Site Info.
